WILLS AND TRUSTS VS PROBATE
A Will gives you peace of mind on how your estate and assets will be distributed after you pass away. If you die without a will, which is referred to as intestate, the state decides what will happen to your assets and your estate as a whole.
A Trust helps you avoid probate, minimize taxes, provides flexibility, and allows you to have access to and maintain control of assets during your lifetime. A Trust allows you to appoint a Trustee to distribute your assets according to your instructions.
Why you need a Will or Trust put in place:
A Will or Trust is necessary in order to avoid Probate, an arduous, lengthy process, which is also costly and confusing. Dealing with Probate puts a huge burden on your loved ones while in mourning. There are several mandated forms that must be filed through the court, putting a hold on your property and assets until the court makes a decision.
